The veterans memorial for Cranberry Township was placed in Morrison Park on Friday afternoon, May 21, 2005. Present at the event were Fred Buckholtz, chairman of the township park board; Holly Jarzenski-Berlin of the Cranberry Area Business and Professional Association and Tim Matthews of Matthews Custom Granite. The Business and Professional Association led the campaign to erect the marker. The effort began more than a year ago, and township supervisors earmarked a portion of a state grant allocation for the project. The memorial will be dedicated July 2, and landscaping will be completed as an Eagle Scout project. The monument will serve as a tribute to Cranberry Township residents who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces. Click on an image below to see it full size.
