The Venango Area
Chamber of Commerce/Cranberry Festival Committee is proud to
announce its 2nd annual “2006 Cranberry Festival Art Show and
Exhibit”.
The
“2006” Cranberry Festival Art Show and
Exhibit will once again be held at the
Christian Life Academy Building in Seneca, PA. The Festival will
showcase the artwork of youth, amateur, and professional artists,
artisans, and photographers.
The Cranberry Festival Committee is inviting artists, artisans, and
photographers to enter their work in the art competition.
- Exhibits include both youth
and adult displays
- Categories:
- Two-Dimensional # of
Pieces – framed or matted (including oil, pastel, acrylic,
pencil, watercolor, etc.),
- Three-Dimensional # of
Pieces (including textile, ceramic, pottery, porcelain,
carving, collages, etc.),
- Photography # of Pieces
(film or digital, color/black or white – unedited),
- Enhanced Photography # of
Pieces (film or digital, color, black and white edited or
altered by a photographic process),
- Scrapbooking # of Pieces
- This will be a judged show.

you may pick up registration forms at Computer Showcase in Seneca
and/or at the Venango Area Chamber of Commerce in Oil City.
The art show committee would like to provide t-shirts to the first
50 youth artists free of charge. They are seeking business or
organization sponsorships to offset the T-Shirt cost. All sponsors
will get their name or logo listed on the art show website plus on
the back of the t-shirt. T-shirts will also be sold to the general
public and to adult artists for a low cost of $10.00 per shirt. If

Guest
Speaker - Judy Leasure, a Certified Art Instructor and
Professional Artist, will be presenting at the Art Show on Friday
night at 7PM. Her topic will be "Genesis Heat-Set Oils". This is a
new type of oil paint gaining in popularity, but still largely
unknown. The special polymer-based formula keeps the paint from
drying until it is heated to 265 degrees, allowing you to set up
your palette and use as long as needed.

Free Beginners Photography Class
- Local professional photographer (retired) Jim Kronmiller will
be teaching a FREE 1-hour photography class for all youth and
beginners. Class will be held on Friday – Sept 29, 2006 from 6-7PM.

Volunteers
Needed - The committee is seeking additional volunteers that
would be interested in helping with this event. Interested
