The Venango Area Chamber of
Commerce/Cranberry Festival Committee is proud to announce its 4th
annual "2008" Cranberry Festival Art Show and Exhibit".
The "2008" Cranberry Festival Art Show and Exhibit will be held at
the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall in Seneca, PA. The
Festival will showcase the artwork of youth, amateur, intermediate and
professional artists, artisans, and photographers.
The Cranberry Festival Committee is inviting artists, artisans, and
photographers to enter their work in the art competition.
- Exhibits include both youth
and adult displays
- Categories:
- Oil 150 -
framed or matted (any media).
- Two-Dimensional - framed or matted (including oil, pastel, acrylic,
pencil, watercolor, etc.)
- Three-Dimensional (including textile, ceramic, pottery, porcelain,
carving, collages, etc.)
- Photography
(film or digital, color/black or white - unedited)
- Enhanced Photography (film or digital, color, black and white edited or
altered by a photographic process)
- Scrapbooking
- ATC's (American Trading
Cards) - Artist may submit 3 entries for one
registration fee. Each card will be judged separately.
- Greeting Cards - Artist may submit 3 entries for one registration fee.
- This will be a judged show.
To Participate - Print the Registration Form
(listed above), or you may pick up registration forms at
Computer Showcase in Seneca and/or at the Venango Area Chamber of
Commerce in Oil City.
The art show committee would like to provide t-shirts to the first
100 youth artists free of charge who submit 3-Art Show entries (1
shirt per youth /artist). They are seeking business or organization
sponsorships to offset the T-Shirt cost. All sponsors will get their
name or logo listed on the art show website plus on the back of the
t-shirt.
T-shirts will also be sold to the general public and to
adult artists for a low cost of $12.00 per shirt. If you are

2008 Art Show
Judge
Margherita Emanuele
| Margherita
Emanuele received her B.F.A in painting from Edinboro
University. She currently teaches Intro, Basic and Advanced
art classes at Oil City High School. She recently obtained
studio space in downtown Oil City through the Arts
Revitalization Program. Margherita has displayed her work
in several juried exhibitions and was published in Edinboro
University's Chimera Art and Literary Journal. |
Guest Speakers
John Karian and Jim Flinchbaugh, two professional photographers,
have volunteered to be the "2008" Cranberry Festival Art Show
special guest artists. Both Karian and Flinchbaugh will present a
slide show on Friday evening, September 19th, 2008 from 7-8 pm of
their work entitled “Surf and Turf” and they will also discuss tips
for taking better pictures. This event is open to the public and is
free.
Volunteers Needed - The
committee is seeking additional volunteers that would be interested
in helping with this event. Interested volunteers who would like to
serve on the Cranberry Festival Art Show committee should contact
